1. Introduction

Specialist Trackers UK Ltd ("STUK", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights in relation to it.

STUK is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 14894745) and our registered contact details are set out at the end of this policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of our website at specialist-trackers.uk and to your purchase of products and installation services from us. It does not apply to data generated by any vehicle security device after activation, which is handled by the device manufacturer under their own privacy policy (see section 5 below).

2. Scope of Our Data Handling

We want to be clear about what personal information we do and do not handle.

We handle:

• the personal information you provide to us when you create an account, place an order, or contact us;

• limited technical information about your visit to our website (see section 8 on cookies).

We do not handle:

• any location data, journey history, immobiliser status, recovery alerts, or other telematics data generated by or transmitted to or from any vehicle security device we sell or install. All such data is collected, processed, and controlled by the device manufacturer under the manufacturer's own privacy policy. We have no access to it.

If you wish to make a request relating to telematics data, including a request for access, deletion, correction, or transfer, you should contact the manufacturer of the device directly. We are not able to action such requests because we do not hold the data.

3. Information We Collect

When you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

Identity and contact information: your name, email address, postal address, and telephone number.

Vehicle information: the make, model, registration, and identifying details of the vehicle into which a product is to be installed.

Payment information: billing address and payment method details. Payment card details are processed directly by our payment provider and are not stored by STUK.

Order and account information: details of products and services you have purchased, order history, communications with our customer service team, and any account preferences.

Technical information: limited information about your device, browser, and use of our website (see section 8 on cookies).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes, on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

Performing our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)): processing your order, arranging delivery, scheduling installation, processing payment, handling returns or warranty claims, and providing customer support.

Complying with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)): meeting our tax, accounting, and consumer protection obligations, and responding to lawful requests from regulators or law enforcement.

Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): operating and improving our website, preventing fraud, maintaining records of customer interactions, and (where you have not opted out) sending you occasional updates about products and services similar to those you have purchased. You have the right to object to processing on this basis at any time (see section 9).

Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)): where we send you marketing communications you have specifically opted in to receive. You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Sharing Your Information

We share your personal information only where necessary, and only with the categories of recipient set out below.

Device manufacturers. Where you purchase a vehicle security product that requires manufacturer account setup or subscription activation, we share the personal information you provided at checkout with the manufacturer of that product for the purpose of creating your account and activating your device. We do not control how the manufacturer subsequently uses your information, and your relationship with the manufacturer is governed by their own privacy policy and terms, which you should review before purchase.

Authorised Installers. Where you have purchased an installation service, we share the information needed to perform the installation (your name, contact details, installation address, and vehicle details) with the independent Authorised Installer engaged to carry out the work. Authorised Installers are independent qualified professionals who handle your information for the purpose of completing the installation.

Service providers. We share information with providers we engage to operate our business, including our website hosting provider, payment processor, courier and delivery services, IT and accounting providers. These providers act on our instructions and are required to handle your information securely and only for the purposes for which we share it.

Legal and regulatory recipients. We may share information where required to do so by law, regulation, or a lawful request from a court, regulator, or law enforcement agency.

Business transfers. If STUK is acquired by, merged with, or sells substantially all its assets to another business, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will continue to handle it in accordance with this Privacy Policy or a successor policy of equivalent protection.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

6. International Transfers

Your personal information is primarily processed within the United Kingdom. Where we share information with service providers based outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including the use of the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfer to jurisdictions covered by a UK adequacy decision.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including for any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

In general:

Order and account information is retained for 6 years from the date of the relevant order, in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements.

Warranty and installation records are retained for the duration of the warranty period plus 6 years, to enable us to respond to claims.

Marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe.

Customer service correspondence is retained for 2 years from the last interaction.

After these periods, we either delete or anonymise the information so it can no longer be linked to you.

9. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you:

Right of access: to request a copy of the information we hold about you.

Right to rectification: to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

Right to erasure: to ask us to delete information we hold about you, in certain circumstances.

Right to restrict processing: to ask us to limit how we use your information, in certain circumstances.

Right to data portability: to receive a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format, in certain circumstances.

Right to object: to object to our processing of your information on the basis of our legitimate interests, including for direct marketing purposes.

Right to withdraw consent: where we are processing your information on the basis of your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 12. We will respond within one month, although we may extend this by up to two further months for complex requests and will let you know if we do.

As noted in section 2, requests relating to telematics data generated by your device should be directed to the device manufacturer, not to STUK.

You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection matters: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include access controls, encryption of payment data in transit, and contractual obligations on our service providers. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take our obligations seriously.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version in effect at any given time will be posted on this page with the "Last Updated" date shown at the top. We will notify you of material changes where required to do so by law.
